Matthew Modine has a higher opinion of the morals of his Stranger Things character than I do. But I am not going to sweat it too much because I’m pretty sure Brenner is dead. Though as he says, I have thought that before.

“I think Dr. Brenner is a more moral person than that”
I just need a moment here to fanboy over a huge tease that NEEDS to be mentioned: “I’m an engineer, not a miracle worker!”
I recommend checking out Prodigy - it’s definitely a kids show and it won’t let you forget it, but if you keep that in mind it’s still a lot of fun (especially if you’re a Voyager fan, with the inclusion of Hologram Janeway). It’s not at the point of The Clone Wars or Avatar: The Last Airbender in terms of “kids shows…
They did it.
A damn good episode.
I have never watched a prequel that has managed to make me this invested, and it certainly helps that they have made the “foreknowledge” aspect part of the text.
Some observations..
Over the last few weeks I have seen a lot of people pointing out that Ortegas has been a little two dimensional throughout this season.…
The Watcher is literally a plot point from TOS, which I’m gonna go out on a limb and say you venerate.
Honestly Soong getting on the board isn’t silly at all they explain it clearly - he donated a shit-ton of cash. He may be disgraced but all signs point to him still being incredibly wealthy (his house, his lab, etc.)
I just think it’s kinda awesome that she got to live every Trek fan’s dream of appearing on Star Trek.
I like my Trek finales the way I like my elections -- garnished with conservative tears.
I know they’ll never do it but I wish they did a spin on the Uniforms from ‘The Cage’ and ‘Where No Man Has Gone Before’ the turtleneck pullovers just seem much more ‘Naval’ if you know what I mean. Also the Turtlenecks are a nice little connection to the TOS movies era
They didn’t detect Omega, just the substance that can create it.
It’s a damned if they do, damned if they don’t situation. If they don’t include stuff like this, people have accused the writers of not having respect for the franchise, having no prior knowledge of the other series, not being “Trek” enough. When they do, people complain it’s from the bad episodes, it’s too much, or…
If there’s Lincoln there better be Genghis Khan.
I don’t know much about Hollywood, but I have to imagine that announcing a new movie to be released next year without deals in place for the cast means that everyone’s price automatically goes up 20%. Seriously, is anyone on that cast hurting for work right now?
JJ: “Actually, all the characters are called John Harrison.”
They really need to do something other than space battle and belligerent Klingulans. Like maybe some brain headed aliens. Or a planet with multiple disparate cultures (Roman, Western, Nazi, Gangster, etc) which turns out to be an amusement park run by a computer that Kirk must logic rant into destroying itself.
If the Omega Directive is active in the 32 century, shouldn’t’ they have mention it when they discover that the DMA was mining boronite?
Jeffrey Epstein grew up in era of 70's musicians sleeping with 14 year olds (Jimmy Page kidnapped and raped a 14 year old during his height of fame), and so I wonder how he would have realized it was wrong. If we as a society know that adults aren’t supposed to have sex with teens, then why do we…
