It actually can be done. Wouldn't be promoting it if it wasn't feasible. With that said if we're going to talk "reality" it would involve selling state roads and then allowing for (if wanted) private land for any company who feels they could turn a profit on building a road that would command enough demand.

And in no where in my responses have I offered the crony capitalistic solutions that brought upon those circumstances within those industries as the answer.

A fitting end to a conversation, but before I go allow me to correct some assumptions as confusions on your behalf.

The ability to travel freely is actually a right. We can argue the merits of a Govt that "Claims" to serve the public another, but to hold a strict monopoly on roads is about as hypocritical as an entity can get given their history and rational against voluntary monopolies that don't use coercion to gain customers.

Allow me to try to touch upon a few of the points you made with some observations, conversations, and first hand knowledge I have w/ Govt, regulations, and Business.

You didn't answer the question all you did was give me a hypothetical. As for the fancy sticker, you realize there are plenty of actual accidents involving cars with stickers, right?

Thanks for a good/honest attempt at responding. I agree with your premise about comcast and Verizon and such but those, unfortunately, aren't examples of private (free market) business but rather oligopolies. So yes, that may not yield fantastic results but without knowing what we'd get for our money (in reduction of

"No"? Because you have in your hip pocket countless examples of services in which the govt does a better job at running than private business?

And yet can you or the "law enforcers" point to anyone who suffered (or even complained of) any type of damage or injury to themselves and/ or property?

How do you fix it? First ask yourself who runs it. Who is responsible for the way motorists travel on those roads and then you have your answer as to who the fuck needs to remove themselves from the equation.

Hey, Don't look at me. At least I've never started war, caused poverty, or invaded your anal cavity.

If regulations didn't limit liability and past Govt / Court rulings didn't piss on private property rights, a precedent for individuals to sue other individuals would still be prevalent today. Instead today what you have are the results of decades upon decades of Politicians who take advantage of those (and other)

Arrested for not having the right paper on a windshield? Makes sense, such a "crime" deserves being cuffed and then locked up in a cage.

Because many of the laws in place violate private property laws. Read the link up above or do your own research if you want to see the BS companies are able to do and must do that make drilling more difficult and challenging due to Govt... OR you can be lazy and uneducated. I'll leave that up to you.

You can choose to blame the symptom or the disease. Your choice.

I'll acknowledge mistakes happen and a few lives are negatively effected when you acknowledge Govt regulations like forcing deep sea drilling and allowing "Force Pooling" to happen on Private Property are fucking over our people.

Yes, but it would create a ceiling on gas prices. Also, did mention the pipeline - but at the end of the day Mr. Tea, you're not inaccurate.

Yea, as I stated it was rhetorical - you can't even do that. It just goes to show you how ludicrous the entire concept was. W/ that said - they should still do so (or should have years back) but in America you have too many idiots who would rather import goods that could be produced on their own soil.

It was more rhetorical, the whole premise is rather silly and you're 100% about how long it would take for the cockamamie idea to come to fruition. Appreciate the banter though.

I'm calm but also extremely puzzled - and apologies but my post wasn't supposed to be a reply to you, merely to the article/author. [difficulties of Jalopnik on the Cell] Anyway, my point was why even consider it when its analogous to punching a sleeping bear in the head and breaking your hand in the process.
