Yep. Been doing that for years. Much easier than this reverse-tare method and having to weigh your bags/containers of ingredients. Mixing bowl on scale. Add flour. Zero it out. Add sugar. Zero it out. Add salt. Zero it out. Lather, rinse, repeat.

You both are right.

if we’re calling things by appropriate names, it’s definitely not “gouging”

As someone who works in the packaging industry comparing flexible to rigid packaging in this way is invalid. There is a size tolerance for both type of packaging so if you are using a bag that is on the higher end of the tolerance and a bucket that is on the lower end it could make a difference.

Like the term. ”Bon Appbait!” Yeah, that works.

Anything that tries to force me to use Doordash, or any of these other bullshit rent-seeking third-party ‘disruptive’ apps (Uber Eats, GrubHub, Deliveroo) can go fuck itself. These guys are no better than Yelp at attempting to insert themselves between a consumer and people who actually MAKE A PRODUCT and trying to

Your takeaway is that you’re the victim in this story?

No, totally not racist.

This however:

Okay, but this is New Mexico. The "medical school" is probably in a strip mall next to a place that sells crystals and incense.

I don't think it really counts as missing work if you just... don't sell essential oils for a few days.

It’s not that hard. She’s co-opting a millennia-old dish and peddling it as some sort of homeopathic medicine. On top of that, she’s basically saying “I took out all that Asiany stuff, so it’s good enough for us white people now.”

The word “congee” is derived from the Tamil name in India, which is “kanji.”

So I was going to jump in and join in on the hate—I mean, ffs, her name is even Karen—but I realized that Dennis never actually bothered telling us what her concoctions were. I checked her website and they’re...pretty different from the congee I grew up with.

Her use of “improved” and “modernizing” is stupid and

Nope. What was wrong here is the marketing plan she used for it.

She chose to use the word “improved” that’s problematic. Not her “take on it” or her “interpretation”, specifically “improve”. Anything to defend a racist eh?

You wanna do it at home, no problem.

Note to you: selling a food item from a different cultural background probably cool and fine. I’m sure some people will criticize you, but you’re running a food business and someone will always criticize you.

Branson experienced brief “zero gravity” because his “spaceship” was falling towards earth just like you would if you jumped out of a plane.

I’m not normally one to knock the writers of this site, I have stupid opinions too, but Eric consistently writes questionable content. It’s getting to the point where I’m going to stop clicking on his articles.

How ever much shade Erik wants to throw on this accomplishment, Virgin Galactic’s ship performed exactly as they planned and expected. In no way did it not achieve what they set out to do yesterday.
