I ran the upgrade to the new version of Raspian yesterday, and it killed my TightVNC settings. Not a big deal, but I do have to go back in and fix that now. I haven't had the chance to run the raspi-config to see if there is any noticeable difference.

The support for the tv is connected to the two outside 2x4s, and does not even need to touch the sheetrock on the other side. Given the height of the hole, it is possible that the sheet rock is not attached to the middle 2x4 right where you're cutting it out. So, careful cutting with a circular saw would leave a

You are correct in that it sounds like I'm suggesting it, and that I'm not suggesting it. I appreciate the benefit of the doubt you granted me there. Poor choice of an opening sentence there on my part. Sexual assault is wrong, regardless of who the victim is, what they do for a living.

She is not a prostitute, she's a pron star. She's paid to have sex on camera with men who are paid to have sex on camera—or whatever other kind of porn she does. That does not mean, by any stretch of the imagination, that she has to put up with being touched in any way shape or form, by anyone, at any time.

Yea, you would have to be really careful about what you put down, I guess. My wife tells me that it's only good for bachelor pads. :)

Yes, and it's worked every time.

I bet you could do the same thing with old newspapers and magazines. The strength of the floor obviously comes from the poly, and not from the decoration under it.

Not sure what that means, to be honest.

I'm married with three kids, aged 11, 13 and 14. That's all I'm going to say.

Now playing

I got mine a few weeks ago. I've played with the gpio pins, and done two pretty neat things:

I never put my phone in my pocket. I have a cell phone carrier that I wear on my belt. I keep the screen facing in so if anything hits me from the outside, it won't break the screen. Sure, it's a little fannipack-ish, but it protects my phone and keeps it handy.

Where's the poll? We need a poll!

That's exactly what I tell my kids when they ask!

I use Google Voice to bypass the no conference call limitation on Magic Jack. I have Google place the call to the conference line, and call my Magic Jack number. I pick up the line, and the call goes through.

Baby wipes will go down the toilet in a pinch, but you need to rip them in half before use. They are just too big. I wouldn't use them in a septic tank situation, but they will work otherwise.

They are taking orders here: http://www.newark.com/raspberry-pi/raspbrry-pcba/raspberry-pi-model-b-board-only/dp/83T1943?ref=lookahead

about half the time that doesn't hold for me. :(

Guys, Brokenlens is right. Swallowed magnets can kill. While I don't necessarily agree that this poses that much danger as they are on the outside, and any kid big enough to be using them would not swallow them, this warning is certainly not worth cursing and it isn't "everything wrong with society."

I know that the Raspberry Pi has several general i/o pins that can be set to on or off. One would assume that you could interface with the Adruino with them, no?

Make sure you've got a good power supply. There are issues with uses like this taking up more power than the supply can handle, and things not working. Especially when you're talking about hard drives. If they are self powered, they should be OK, but if they are powered by the USB port, you might run into problems.
