@korpo53: I'm making the argument that the votes in OR didn't count exclusively because of the electoral college system. If we had the pure popular vote system that I am arguing for, the votes in OR would have counted, as they might have made a difference.

@korpo53: You can't say that every vote counts under this system, even if you ignore the popular vote issue. As I already pointed out, in 2000, the state of Oregon was dealing with the same issues as Florida. However, no one was bringing up law suits, or demanding recounts, or making fun of Oregon for it's hanging

@korpo53: How can you possibly say that every vote counts when the populous voted for Al Gore, and we got George Bush instead? When Grover Cleavland won the popular vote in 1888, but Benjamin Harrison won the Presidency? When Samuel J. Tilden won the popular vote in 1876, but Rutherford B. Hayes took the office?

@rebeldevil: For all elections except the President, you are right. Every vote counts, and people should go and cast INFORMED votes.

@ninja_togo: They've even gone so far as to contact Cannon about it. You're actually loading the alternative "OS" from your flash storage card, and NOT touching the one in the camera. You don't modify the camera at all.

@Snafu77: It's not the legal issues I'm worried about as much as the civil issues. You may not go to jail, pay a fine, or get in trouble otherwise with the courts, but the thief may just sue you for a large cash amount. Even if you win, the legal fees would hurt.

@Dare To No: Like I said, maybe "for me" would have been a better choice of words. Moral and Legal don't always match, as you've pointed out. I guess my definition of immoral is something that is wrong to do based on the act itself, not the legality of the act. So, I can see something as wrong to do because it's

@Dare To No: Hey! I never said immoral! I said "to me, it's wrong to do". I'm not judging "you" when I say that. maybe "for me" would have been a better choice of words.

@RickS: PS: I didn't want to make it sound like I'm better than anyone else because I haven't done drugs. If pot gets legalized, I might try it—I haven't decided. But until then, to me, it's wrong to do it, so I won't.

@Zanzan42: I'm sorry, but I have to disagree. There are plenty of people out there who don't have exciting enough lives to generate embarrassing pictures. Goodness knows my life never really got that exciting.

@silvermoonstar3: AFAIK, T-Mobile is no different at the end of the contract. They get you other ways, too. I just reupped to get a lower rate. (Family Plan where the extra lines are free.) Two year commitment, no new phones.

@silvermoonstar3: But my point is this. They tie you in to make sure that you pay for the phone. You've paid for the phone, now it's time to stop charging me for the phone. Part of my monthly bill during that two years is to pay for the phone. Stop charging me that amount.

Here's a question. In a related article, the author of the $2 for pressing the Up button article talks about early termination fees, and subsidized cell phones. ([bit.ly] If cell companies have, at some point, recouped the cost of the phone from you, why don't your monthly rates go down? In other words, if I choose

Followed the link for WebP, then followed the link to their demo page. Every single WebP image took LONGER to load than it's original counterpart. Could be because I'm using FireFox, or it could just be a case of FAIL.

Unless, of course, they build the extension engine, and then power it with a ton of extensions that make it compatible. Best of both worlds there!

@l337_7r4d3r: No. See my post above. I want Open/LibreOffice to take over the world. For that to happen, it's got to be 100% compatible with the leader in it's field. Once it's got that, you can start worrying about allowing for extensions.

My two cents. For to to truly be accepted by the masses, it needs to be used in place of MS Office. When I get a spreadsheet, for example, from a college, and he did it in Office 2010, I need to be able to open it up and work on it in Open/LibreOffice, and not have any features missing.

@Posco Grubb: OOPS! Missed the note after the poll. I just took the poll and was done.

Can't you guys collect this data without asking us and then just report the results?
