My opinion on this is the research group and the WVU guys were tipped off by someone. I don’t believe for one moment that this was an innocent, serendipitous discovery.

Doug,

It's not Virginia that's the problem with Viginia — its Northen Virginia.

My 2013 DSG Passat averages 39 mpg over 71,000 miles logged with Fuely. How the heck do you 6M transmission guys get such good fuel mileage? I drive my car like any other Jalop, but I commute 100 miles per day in mainly highway running. I don't get it.

Unwatchable. Music is a distraction and I can’t understand the dialog.

As you can see from my avatar, I have a Passat (with the SCR-equipped engine). The quotes above seem to indicate that the older non-SCR cars will fare better than my car with the AdBlue tank. This doesn’t make sense to me, because I thought the injection system was a critical part of the cleanup process. How will

I don’t believe that is correct. The 2012 and 2013 Passats are listed separately from the the ‘14-’15 Passats - but they are listed. (FWIW, I have a ‘13, thus my interest.)

Now I may know why my 2013 Passat TDi’s fuel economy dropped from an average of 40-41 mpg to 38-39 mpg. The car was flashed last year, and it rarely tops 40 mpg these days. Not a big deal, but significant, non the less.

I still think they should run V-6 engines at the Super Speedways.

The reason the Taurus is dying is not because folks are abandoning large sedans — it’s because the Taurus has no rear seat room. It is large in outside proportions only.

I wanted a Supra, bad, in 1984. I had just started dating my (now) wife and she had a 1983 Celica ST. That thing was as tough as a a “truck” and I was sure the sportier Supra would be awesomeness. However, I discovered a slightly used Honda Prelude, and bought that instead. I think I made the right choice, as I gave

I like the truck, and the stance is great. All in all, though, I must ask — why no pictures underneath?

There you go, busting on my Passat again. I’m beginning to look forward to the jabs. Keep up the good work. ;)

Doug, you’ve got to stop busting my ass about the Passat. I actually like the damn thing ;)

Yes,I’m excited. I yearn for an Audi, but I drive a Passat - because that’s what I can afford. A nice, reasonably priced, MQB Alltrack wagon would be sweet.

Damn Doug, I would have bought you a beer or better if I’d know you were passing through. I work in Fredericksburg. Nice car.

Shootings - in the UK? But, Piers said that never happens.

The Passat is getting long in the tooth, although there’s still something reassuring about its straightforward design and utilitarian feel. There’s a hint of luxury, which falls flat when you start playing with the ancient nav system and take a closer look at the interior. With all the new metal available, it just

Tyler,

Neutral: Are You Considering Buying A Car? Crossover? SUV? Truck? Any Of The Above?
