That ping and jitter is terrible. That would lead me to the ISP equipment (assuming he doesn’t own the modem). Might be good to disconnect anything else from the network in case something is stealing bandwidth (also make sure windows isn’t running updates in the background, Microsoft will use any available bandwidth).

Its been fairly common with smaller titles but I remember buying Call of Duty Ghosts on the PS3 and getting the PS4 version included. I think there were a few other games like that when the new console came out.

There is a very high likelihood that the 2 adapter USB to DVI to HDMI method will NOT work., especially on an old Gateway machine that probably has very old USB hardware/firmware. I’d recommend pulling the hard drive or finding a VGA monitor.
