Europe, Japan, and US manufacturers are handing China the opportunity it needs to invade the market. This is pure hubris on display.

Wow, the regular Gawker commentariat is largely comprised of assholes.

Screw VW

Ballaban’s gibbering never ceases to make me chuckle.

The police are there to enforce the law, not die trying to save stupid people. I grieve for the families of these three ladies.

To be fair, is there anyone else on the staff you would expect to survive this kind of story? Hell, Ballaban couldn’t handle a couple nights in a van, and nearly gibbered himself to death in an autopiloting Tesla.

Maybe Sean, I know he’s done some adventure biking.

The tracks don’t just magically erase the hub/bearing loading created by lateral strain. The hub is a fulcrum, and the contact patch is the end of the lever. By adding additional distance to this lever (the total thickness of the track assembly) you are increasing the effect of any nonvertical loading.

The basic

That’s a guarantee. The market has fallen out from under all of the VW cars. My ~$10K Jetta depreciated 5k in 1.5 years. My subwoofer and hitch will probably take enough off the price that selling the car won’t be worth the fuel to drive to the dealer.

Here’s the part where I worry that VW will continue to consider my trailer hitch “frame damage” and will refuse to fix or compensate.

Regardless, I’m done with VAG (giggidy) after this stupidity. In fact, Ford is cutting some mean deals on the FoST and FiST if you shop through USAA.

I wonder what kind of additional torque loads these place on the hub and steering assemblies. That extra weight and the longer arm has to produce moments at the fulcrum far greater than what the engineers intended.

Then again, if you can drop $25k on a snow accessory, you probably don’t care about things like this.

Now playing

Wrap yourself up in a bullshit blanket and watch this:

Nuts are better in their unfumbled form.

QUIT SHARING THIS AUTHOR’S TRIPE ON JALOPNIK!

Really, her articles are nothing more than urbanite whinging. There’s a whole lot more to this world than pumpkin spice lattes and vegan shoes.

Oh! I saw one of those in the wild not too long ago. I thought is was just a dedicated fan. The back end on these is really well done.

3 huge pieces or 1 massive one, at Tesla prices and production rates you’re not going to convince me or the insurance company that it’ll be cheap.

It’s still glass the whole way. Don’t be pedantic.

You’d better get the best hail damage coverage you can.

10/10, would daily

17's have amazingly bad turbulence even with the T-tail. There’s a reason why none of its operators use it to refuel.
