Yup, 1 F35 does not equal 1 F16 + 1 A-10.
No, I said that dearth of experienced aviators in leadership positions leads to an overall lack of granular knowledge about air power.
If this statement disparages warrant officers, then you are simpleminded.
BTW, a HAF or AWT, unless directly overhead or specifically prepositioned, flies a whole lot slower than even…
I’m not saying the AF is perfect. I’m describing how the AF flies planes with the efficiency that the Army fights ground battles. It’s how they pay the bills. I understand your point about losses, but those are part of an all-out war. The flight hours to aircraft lost since Vietnam will give a whole different number.
Th…
No, no, no, NO! At what point did I call into question warrant officers? Not one fucking time! Go ahead and flick the chip off your shoulder.
CAS support still flows through the same channels as all other air power. Those channels happen to have structured responses to requests for support. The fastest TIC CAS…
I don’t know specifics about those countries. But, I know the US gives its air components a lot more flexibility than is typical elsewhere in the world.
Oh, how little you actually know about this. My car already has the DPF permanently engaged thanks to an ECU update that was applied many months ago (probably when VW realized they were about to get hammered). Guess what, I only saw a 2-3 MPG drop and didn’t notice any difference in performance.
So troll on elsewhere,…
They’re nice cars, but they just don’t cause my pants to fit badly like Ferrari’s mid-engined offerings.
Of course, if given one for free, I’d drive the wheels off of it.
Yay! I get to pay $70k+ for a car with a 250 mile range on its own, and probably 60% of that with a trailer. It has the added benefit of requiring days to charge if I don’t have a special high amp outlet around? SIGN ME UP!
Quick Reaction Force. The Marines have special provisions in congressional law that allow them to rapidly deploy on the command of the president while the decision to fight is still being made. Bush made use of this ability.
Ok, let me educate you on doctrinal differences between the forces.
On a battlefield all Army assets belong to the Ground Forces Commander (GFC). This includes all air assets the Army has dominion over. Since the Army makes heavy use of warrant officers, there are very few commissioned officers who have any flight…
Trolololololololololololololololololol...........
The system in place works when activated. The design issue that makes that impractical is the DPF, which can’t be emptied, and takes 2 hours to get out. They could release a new one that can be emptied while still on the vehicle and meet the EPAs requirements. That’s the cheapest route.
That said, I would prefer a urea…
I keep checking Infowars to see if a Chemtrail article has popped up.
Yes, I think people are that stupid.
The A-10 thing is a political shit-show that has nothing to do with the division of rotary and fixed wing assets. The Army absolutely sucks at fixed wing operations, and had done so since the establishment of the AF. There is a huge culture difference between the services, which is the deciding factor in mission…
I suggest you read up on the Johnson-McConnell Agreement. The separation of flight duties between the services is not without purpose.
Doubtful, the baseline emissions requirements, which VW violated, are EPA’s realm (http://www3.epa.gov/air/emissions/). This is evidenced by the fact that the federal government is the body pursuing the fines, not the individual states.
They already did, lol. Mine was one of the ones that got the ECU “update”. It’s already running with the filter constantly engaged.
In fact, I would regain the lost performance if they retrofitted a urea system instead.
Yeah, I love watching old ladies and kittens fall over dead as I speed by.
Those are nice cars, but a little above the price I was willing to pay in 2009. When I look to purchase again in a few years they’ll be on the list again.
Fun fact: That BMW engine was part of an engineering cooperative between Mercedes, BMW, and VW that also produced the TDI engine.
