Hi James and io9 staff writers.

Clearly, this gedankenexperiment is a hobby for people with too much money. Good for them and us.

I’d like to hear a physicist’s opinion on whether the effect of falling into a Black Hole will cause a person to disappear up their own butt. Doesn’t make sense to me. I suppose it depends on which part of you is closer to the Black Hole?

Excellent list.

I suspect this is all leading up to Moreland’s murder. And what Sherlock then does.

I think Hawking and Musk should share the Nobel Award for Hysterical Imagining.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but pretty much all of the major media outlets are giving The X-Files bland to really sucky reviews. All saying Chris Carter has lost his way.

This article, Unleashing the beast within, in the current issue of Science (Jan. 15, 2016), explores the evolutionary background to the causes of sudden rage.

My feeling is that the potential story lines are far from being explored. It’s not just what we’ve seen so far (crime stories, defeating HR, battle of the AIs). I’d LOVE to see much more from this creative team.

As a friend said to me, “Smart move CBS, let’s end a show produced by the guy that just directed the biggest grossing movie in the world.” [My Expletives Deleted.]

All of the magazines I’m subscribed to (and happily paid for) are going great financially: The Economist, The New Yorker, Science, Nature, Nautil.us, Foreign Affairs and BBC Music Magazine.

This New Yorker article, earlier this year, tells the story of what will happen when the Cascadia Fault ruptures: “The next full-margin rupture of the Cascadia subduction zone will spell the worst natural disaster in the history of the continent.”

Beautiful.

Nothing from Orphan Black?

This article on Medium.com makes the point that it’s also about how we frame what we think about. Interesting reading (and uplifting):

Seriously, can anyone kindly explain—aside from satisfying any curiosity about the historical truth of the invention of Bitcoin, and the ensuing celebrity to one or more individuals—what importance does this truth have, if any? I can’t think of any.

I think Samaritan should prioritize the CBS execs ahead of The Team.

To all you geeks and nerds like me, Roald Dahl’s Esio Trot is a really lovely, romantic love story. Watch it with your partner and feel good.
