And yet, this trailer smells of whatever made the live-action Ghost in the Shell movie not good.

She is a brain in a metal body kit. The others are actual cyborgs who have replaced some but not all of their squishy parts with cybernetics.
I mean.. Alita/Gally’s NOT supposed to look human, that’s kind of the point. I’m more dissappointed that Makaku(Grewcica if they’re following the OVA route, since cameron owns the rights to that as well) is not MORE grotesque looking. Really, the only time in the manga where her proportions are more ‘realistic’ is in…
Wow, people are quick to hate anything they’re not used to.
Because art is about breaking conventions of reality. Also it’s a hybrid of 2 styles. The same can be said about any animation. Like why doesn’t everyone copy one style? Because that is boring.
I’m kind of surprised they rate Japanese as bring as difficult to learn as Chinese. In my experience, Japanese is significantly easier to learn for an English speaker. Mandarin has sounds which are difficult for English ears to differentiate and English tongues to pronounce. Plus there’s all the tonal variability.…
“This weird anti-intellectual trend on the internet where we bash others for choosing to spend time thinking and writing is absurd to me.”
If you are getting peer pressured by some flavor text, well, damn.
First and foremost. I didn’t bash them. At worst, I pointed out they may have something to work out when they feel peer pressured by a static menu screen in a game. There are no peers involved unless he is streaming his game play. Which I did not see a mention of.
You could just not suck at the game, Video games are art. If the artist meant for you to feel bad for paying in a lower difficulty that was there intention.
Time to turn in your Man card buddy.
Grow up.
...Why are you taking the baby thing so personally?
I’ve never felt “peer pressure” to play a game on a higher difficulty (mostly because I was 15 when the first games with difficulty settings came out, for Atari VCS). So if I want to play say, Doom on a lower difficulty or a fighting game on one, then I go right ahead and do it.
I just played Wolfenstein: The New Order and The Old Blood. I played on the default difficulty and really enjoyed them. Until the boss fights. When I died too many times and got annoyed, I scaled back to the easiest setting until I could beat them, so I could get back to enjoying the rest of the game on a normal…
I mean. If you feel pressure or insult from a menu in a game. That’s on you, not the industry or company. You have something to work out if a literal playground insult makes you want to type up this much.
I’m starting to think the “game journalists suck at games” meme is less of a joke and more of a truth.
It’s just tongue-in-cheek. I’d love to see more games using creative descriptions for their difficulty menus.
Can we have a ‘I suck at video games, but I’m a game journalist so make the game super easy otherwise I’ll whine about it’ mode?
get gud mate
