OK, how is this like “real last of us” situation though? Last of Us specifically is an issue with cordyceps fungus (a real type of fungus) that specifically zombifies people instead of just insects.

Is there ANYTHING related to this other than its.. a lot fungus? (which there are plenty of types, and have existed far

Clearly, anybody who enjoyed the style known as “JRPG” and used the term positively is white, nobody of any other color could of possibly done this.

Wow, been gaming since the 80s, all of my friends loved JRPGs over Computer/Western RPGs. CRPG/WRPGs were all kinda the same, mostly medieval D&D type affairs, where JRPGS went all sorts of crazy directions and felt amazing (music was ALWAYS better too, I doubt many people have CDs of W/CRPG music). Not to mention

While I do agree they should of kept it 16GB, you have to remember the idea here is that the 6GB would be needed for 4K assets & more VRAM taking up more space. So if I dev had an even split between 8GB work and 8GB VRAM for X, it would still be 8GB work but 2GB VRAM on S.

What games on Series S are running sub 720p?

Far less capable? The only difference is a weaker GPU and a bit less RAM (which you dont need as much RAM if you aren’t doing 4K). Its got the same exact powerful CPU and speedy NVME

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a digital foundry ep where games ran worse on the One X than the Pro.

The One X only has maybe a stronger GPU (though a few generations older so that might be debatable). Series S has a stronger CPU, and NVME. Series S is a follow up to One S, which it blows out of the water, not One X, which it still is better except maybe GPU

Must be new here. Kotaku hasn’t been focused on gaming for a while, their focus has been political crap since sometime after 2010

Everybody made fun of Stranger of Paradise though?

Yeah this must be some sort of generational thing because I can’t figure out why people are upset about a thumbs up

I must be completely oblivious to how this could be passive aggressive

Uhh...Rocco isn’t a “Food Influencer”. He is from Mega64 (one of the main guys/founders)

Im guessing you dont live by a limited means. Some people have to budget out their gaming, because they can’t afford to buy everything top dollar

Maybe they meant 2002, which is when it happened...but if they were going backwards, would of been good to mention Bungie around 2000 too

I wouldn’t say BOTW performs significantly better per se. Odyssey for sure though, but its not quite an open world style game either

Switch’s gimmick was the JoyCons and the device literally named “Switch” because of the ability to switch between HH and console. and I think it was actually more expensive than a PS4/XBO (non pro/x)

N64 & GCN were both powerhouses for the time, though the N64 was handicapped by the cartridge format and a few other dumb architecture issues. Still, nearly all its specs/capabilities (CPU, GPU, RAM, etc) were better than PS1 and definitely Saturn/3D0/Jaguar/etc.

for those other games: HH mode tends to perform slightly better than docked, plus you wont notice as much on a small screen VS huge TV.

Docked mode tends to have worse performance to be honest. Things usually aren’t so bad undocked. (Unfortunately I almost 99% of the time play docked)

LA is a really sad case because the FPS becomes practicably stable 60 as soon as the resolution decides it can’t do 1080p and drops to something more sane. And it does
