The 980 Ti is between 980 and Titan X in power (980: 4.6 TFLOPS, 980 Ti: 5.6 TFLOPS, Titan X: 6.1 TFLOPs)

Yeah because in a game where the goal is try to survive off the land and not to be killed by other people, gender identity politics sound like a great “gameplay” addition.

Yeah my GF would love to play as a female...but the game still doesn’t give her a choice :/

Yup, I picked this up when it came out, but good to show others in case they are interested! Hopefully this and Klonoa 2 will get some sort of HD rerelease in the future (or a 3rd game would be awesome!). For now I use emus :)

Reminds me of Tomba, another cute platformer that didn’t even make it out of the PS1 era.. sadly the company is shut down now. Not sure if Namco will make a modern Klonoa but I’d be all up for it!

Well firstly, half of all gamers aren’t women, especially during this era. I worked at a GameStop during this time and girls & women were few and far between. It is only a little more improved nowadays. It would be awesome if it were true but it simply isn’t.

Second, my girlfriend LOVED these ads. So assuming women

Everything was trying to be extreme and edgy for attention back then. But it was kinda funny to see ads try to outdo each other in absurdity! I mean, look at the **TV** ad Nintendo had for Yoshi’s Island where the guy eats until he explodes

So you loved the first game, but didn’t buy the 2nd because of an ad?

Not sure what any of that had to do with videogames. Videogames are often a place people go to escape life’s problems.

Pretty sure most of us remember this game mostly BECAUSE of its advertising... which im sure helped its sales a lot. Not sure why you would think this turned away people from buying it

These are things Rapp did while associating her professional career with her twitter / name:

Treat customers extremely poorly (while boasting she works at Nintendo)
Spotted multiple times talking about adult/children consent, being pro child porn, etc
Her “Moonlighting” = Lewd cam girl (sometimes with Nintendo related

Funny how these comments didn’t get approved after all this time. Guess Kotaku doesn’t want to mention anything that would put Rapp in a bad light because it doesn’t fit their narrative of her being innocent and harassed. fun times.

Yeah, the other article about Rapp had a bias in it that made Rapp seem innocent too. Can’t expect honest reporting here at Kotaku (probably one of their buddies)

Could of been all those tweets where she was being a complete jerk to customers while boasting she was a Nintendo employee. Let alone the more uh.. questionable tweets of hers.

Guess its time for another article about piracy? Kinda routine Kotaku, they must get a lot of hits.

This is just like those complaining about piracy effecting their sales. Its a lame scapegoat for when their games aren’t selling. Maybe its not selling... because people aren’t interested? There are plenty of narrative heavy type games that sell fine and have Lets Plays.

“mansplaining”

*sigh. I guess we’re done here then.

The women were hired to create a fun atmosphere. Maybe they were oggled/objectified, but even so, it doesn’t mean they were hired to make ALL women, including women DEVELOPERS at the event, oggled/objectified, just those specific women which were hired to be. Its a part of their chosen profession, not yours. Not all

I see what you are saying, however most of the games you listed here have complexity over say ... Flappy Bird, Solitaire, Angry Birds, Match 3 clones, numbers, average Freemium titles, etc. Heck 95% of them are clones of something else.

Well, i’ll mention a few things that do not excuse the situation you were in, but may explain it, I guess?

Firstly: There are a lot of generally stupid people in the world, and yes, most are men. Especially when you put them in a large group, it seems to amplify bad/stupid behavior. This isn’t unique to men though, as
