“Yes, they are still part of the anime hobby/community.”

“XCOM”
Are you really comparing casual cell phone games like Candy Crush, Flappy Bird, Solitaire, etc to XCOM? You know for a fact Xcom is NOT a casual cell phone game. Get real. I wouldn’t personally want to play something that takes that much investment on a mobile device period, but don’t pretend all mobile gaming

And this doesn’t have anything to do with gaming, again you can apply this to ANY hobby.

“Then she’s as much of a gatekeeping dick as you are.”

Yeah I’m the one being a “dick” and here you are attacking a woman who actually plays games to defend women that were never interested in the hobby but you want to force a label of gamer on to suit your fantasy narrative. Nice.

“And who says women gamers don’t want to be gamers?”

Nobody? My girlfriend is more hardcore than I am. SHE is the one who gets upset when people who just play a casual game (and don’t even call themselves gamers to boot) or two are labeled as “gamers” and artificially inflating those numbers as “girl gamers” or

Okay then if you didn’t label yourself as a gamer, I wouldn’t talk about gaming with you. Simple no? Most people who enjoy a hobby seek out others who enjoy it so they can share experiences.

Im going to repeat: I own/drive a car. I fixed stuff on them once. I dont LIKE driving, cars, or fixing them.

But in your shallow view of how hobbies work, I am a part of the driving, car, AND mechanic hobby/community. Despite the fact I do not want to be.

So far your entire argument is “anybody who does something once is a part of a hobby/community, and if you don’t label them that despite their own wishes, you are rejecting them from that community”

So because Im not labeling them something they dont want to be labeled, I’m rejecting them out of gaming which they didn’t want to be a part of..

BTW, you also have a very sheltered view of the world if you think other hobbies dont recognize a “poser” who is pretending they are an expert at a subject when they dont know crap about it.

VR exsisted before the motion control craze... and the motion control craze has all but died out, especially garbage like Kinect.

“Bullshit. Any hobby community that rejects someone solely because they aren’t as devoted (yet) to the hobby is one that doesn’t deserve to exist.”

Nobody is rejecting anybody? We aren’t talking about keeping people out of gaming, we’re talking about people who ARE NOT INTO GAMING. Mobile gaming isn’t even really

People who actually play games and associate themselves with the hobby do?

“Yes, you are.” “Yes, you would be.”

“Yes, she is.”

Seems to be a lot of shaming of women going on here... between the shaming of dancers and excluding women who would enjoy this party regardless.

Honestly they would probably enjoy the females more, but each their own. I don’t get the problem here with the dancers. Unless you seriously hate the sight of women

Didn’t say that. My girlfriend is actually more hardcore than me when it comes to gaming. However almost none of her female classmates liked games. I personally known a handful of females that dabble when they were younger (but mostly don’t now.). I’ve seen a couple of legit female streamers too obviously.
