Yeah, the 1999 Hydro Thunder that was mentioned in another comment... even that is using Windows OS in the background. It would be hard for them to get around patents and copyrights for their legal open source work when you have to have an entire Windows OS running in the background.

Well, I’m sure eventually. I doubt at the current moment, since most modern arcade cabinets are just modern PCs (which if your emulating would take quite some power.. maybe they could build an interpreter instead). That and newer arcade machines have tougher copy protections, etc.
