Newsflash: The devs & pubs don’t get money for rentals either. Or borrowing a game from a friend. Or used game sales.

They DO get money from pirates that purchase the games they like.

Stop feeling “Good and justified” for attacking people who pirate.

All I really said was it was censorship... and it is. Some people think its censorship pushed with an agenda. Maybe it is, maybe it isn’t, but its still censorship. You say censorship isn’t bad, well, thats an opinion... not a good one in MY opinion, but to each his own.

Why because other races, genders, etc can’t have opinions of their own? Only white males can be interested in sexual things? Only white males can enjoy Asian culture?

You say you are “sex positive” yet you put down people who are interested in sexual material over and over. Doesn’t sound very sex positive to me. And what the hell is “bad pervert-negative”? I hope that was a joke?

The “SJW” as you labeled them would be closer, or really, anybody who is overly sex negative and/or hyper offended by anything/nothing. Especially those that lie and manipulate to get what they want.

As a matter of fact, my girlfriend is more upset about these recent events than even I am. She is tired of a certain group going around “speaking for her” and trying to take away things she enjoys. She has been a hardcore gamer since the 80's like myself. I’m not talking casual crap, I’m talking everything under the

I gave plenty of reasons why its bad. You just don’t want to listen because you have the opposite opinion. My main point is that it WAS censorship too, which you’ve already admitted it is. you are just PRO censorship apparently so you dont have a problem with it. (look at you approving of more censorship w/ TERA)

Again, if our crappy ESRB reps had made them do it well thats one thing, they need to retain a certain age restriction level to keep teen for monetary reasons. (T can be sold to a wider audience than M, especially on the 3DS). That can be justified, even if I dont agree with censoring it regardless. But there are Teen

So now we’ve moved the post from it isn’t censorship to censorship isn’t always bad eh?

I made this long reply to someone but decided to copy/paste for the main thread too:

I’ll try to do a quick rundown of pirate economic groups:

1) Pirates that are interested in product but will never buy.
(They cannot afford games, The game is not sold in their country, They just don’t want to spend money. This group is patient and can wait for DRM to be cracked, they have plenty to play after all)

Yeah, its completely innocent. Complete lies caused the first part to be altered/removed, and the second part is being removed “just because some people find it weird.” Well THATS a reason to remove something if I’ve heard of one!

In MOST cases, censorship is a deprivation of information, which is inherently bad. In some cases its a “necessary evil” i.e. to avoid issues with government entities. In the cases of the censored parts of this game, its to avoid issues with “people who might get offended”. Which has led to a character’s story being

“Or, they would buy games because they like video games enough to hassle with pirating them.”

Except for the problems that paying customers are having with Denuvo (like with any heavy DRM system). And as soon as it gets cracked, only they will be having the problem, not the pirates.

That Napster / Apple reference makes no sense, because people still download mp3s all the time. Piracy of mp3s didn’t disappear, it just moved to other peer 2 peer networks, torrents, or direct downloads. Its bigger than it ever was.

Either they would not play any games, or their amount of games they would be able to play would be drastically reduced.

Hope that is a joke. The refund policy isn’t “try before you buy”. I find people abusing the refund policy to be more troublesome then piracy honestly. Abusing refunds is ACTUAL loss of money for every party involved.

I agree.

“it wasn’t until post-2000 that any mainstream games really included pervy stuff, and when they did, it was solely to please otaku-types in Japan. Japan. Not the West.”
