Oh, they still make ‘em. They are just open beds now.

This is the “but I have to look the part” of rugged individuality in Montana when collecting unemployment in the HOA subdivision.
I worked with an empty nester who had a super clean tow vehicle. They just needed it to tow the boat and otherwise loaded the vehicle with luggage and normal vacation stuff to go to their cabin.
No.
They don’t “refuse to build” them, there wasn’t enough of a market for these to sustain them in the first place even at a *MUCH* higher profit-per-unit than the small cars that have been dropping like flies for the past 5-6 years.
I had the same reaction to the interior. There’s just SOOOOO much vehicle-for 4 people! It’s two steps away from making a Peterbuilt COE a daily driver!
I have my 2005 Ford Excursion Eddie Bauer 6.0 Power Stroke Turbo Diesel 4x4 for sale. This rig is in immaculate condition and is like new. For those of you who do not know these diesel motors are indestructible and run forever.
Unless it’s a spaceship, plane, or naval vessel, nothing that has gone around the earth 9 times is going to get me to cough up $30k. I’ll grant the guy his excellent detailing job, but, ND.
In the car business, we refer to the 6.0 as the six point blow.
JUST had one in the shop. Ran like ass. Customer had it diagnosed at another shop, they said wiring harnesses. I asked my customer, are you SURE you don’t want me to take another peek? Nope, just install wiring harnesses.
After it was done, we found…
We need more purple vehicles
I was curious about this one since 30K seemed really high for a high miles Excursion. Looking at Kelly Blue Book which is usually pretty low on what it says your vehicle is worth, for a private seller, this is worth about 18K. Add about 5K onto that for pandemic pricing and you are still way off of 30K.
Based on the diesel and the tow hitch maybe towing is the only reason I could see owning something like this without hauling more asses. My guess a camper.
$30k for an old Ford with a 6.0? HAHAHAHA nope. Knock a 9 off the end of that price.
Pedant alert: Your headline calls it a 2003, but the photo and text call it a 2005. I think we all call the price insane regardless.
I would assume, to tow shit.
Thirty grand is a lot to pay for a 20 year old, 230,000-mile Ford with a nice detailing job. No Dice.
I don’t care how crazy the market is, I will never vote NP for this.
There’s an extra digit in there. Drop one of those ‘9's and it’s a maybe. Also, with 225k on the clock, I didn’t realize we had ever refined that much fuel in the history of ever for it to go that far.
You gotta be fucking kidding me! I looked at the headline and the crazy price and straight to No Dice. I’ve owned Fords with diesels. Never again.
