Unearned snark is William Hughes’ bread and butter, and basically the extent of his toolbox. Wonder if he really believes that all AVC readers think like he does or if he’s just trying to scare off the ones who don’t. Or if he does anything with intention at all.

I’ve really never understood the problem with actors playing roles of characters when they don’t have every trait of the character, and this article spends so much time wallowing in unearned snark that it doesn't even make an attempt to make a case for why it's bad, just assuming everyone will agree. C'est la vie, I

There are honestly quite a few games that I think would do better without the drive for Fully Voiced Dialogue and something like Fallout 4's a good example- having to do that also meant that practically they had to limit the number of dialogue choices.

I think this hits me. Me thought at yet another headline was just... Utter exhaustion.

lol seriously!

“You have to go die in the radiation booth.”

Well to be fair the main story of FO4 is both bad and stupid.  Three isn’t much better.

I’m just here to say this Cyberpunk hot take-osphere has me exhausted. All this posturing over the politics of the Polish studio, the total misunderstanding of how open-world games operate from people like Hughes above or Riley MacLeod, I’m just not that interested in what your opinions are.

Cyberpunk goes out of its way to make its “protagonist” nearly impossible to identify with.”

Brazilian Wax Keanu.

Even knowing there’s a twist coming, that sentence floored me. What the hell? I actually really want to watch this now the pandora’s box has been opened in my brain.

I read it too and that twist, man. Why? How’s that supposed to make sense? What are the other characters’ reaction to it? How does it lead to the end? So many questions!

I read that Irish Times article and I’ve never had so many questions about a movie I will never watch.

David Sedaris was born in 1956. He is in no way, shape, or form a GenXer. He’s pretty much at the midpoint of the Boomer generation.

PEOPLE ARE OFFENDED BY (snarkily rolling their eyes at) SOMETHING I DON’T PERSONALLY FIND OFFENSIVE! THE ANTI-FREE SPEECH MOB MUST BE SILENCED! I HAVE NO SENSE OF IRONY!

I’m trying to picture what “relentless, bemused dunking” would look like on a basketball court.

I mean, nobody’s in charge. That’s kind of the point. People are going to criticize someone who says something they don’t like. You’re free to disagree with them. You’re worried about people deciding what’s unacceptable,  yet here you are deciding what’s unacceptable for other people to say. And yeah, comparing the

But nobody gets to decide that it’s unacceptable.

Reading these comments, I guess a lot of people these days see “unfettered outrage” where I see “relentless, bemused dunking on aging Gen-Xers.” I like Sedaris’s writing, but there’s barely a joke here, and it’s limply punching down from a place of high status.

The Running Man has never gotten the love it deserves.
