I heard they were the same creative team behind Max Headroom, which probably had a lot to do with the elements I did enjoy.

I enjoyed it too.  I supposed a large part of it was that I wasn’t all that interested in Mario Bros at the time, so I just savoured the trippy cyberpunkish alternate reality they did give us.

I think the best thing about the gimmick is that it didn’t feel like a gimmick.  I didn’t even twig to the lack of dialogue until the end, which says a lot about how natural it felt, and how engrossing it was.

I respectfully disagree. Herbs are wonderful things that enhance our enjoyment of life.

I certainly hope so, considering how people in Gotham seem to go full supervillain at the drop of a hat.

I think it failed because they got the European-Amercian hybrid formula backwards.

I imagine the operating costs would be a big factor. It’s the argument I use when talk turns to the utility of a flying car. If we could somehow put the capability of a helicopter into something where the costs were in the ballpark of a conventional ground ambulance, I suspect that would in fact be extremely useful…

And the cubicle was hailed as a solution to the, you guessed it, open plan office, and for all the reasons you mentioned. Amazing how we get these bold new visions to solve the problems of the last bold new vision.

This site is what finally made me get an ad blocker. Normally, I can live with a few ads, and I get that the bills have to be paid, but when it got to the point where they were slowing, and even freezing my computer, something had to be done.

Sure, Coppola made some great films, and I was one of the horde that shelled out the price of a ticket for Endgame. Sometimes you want enlightenment, knowledge and inspiration, and sometimes trash is exactly what you want.
