Well that’s a bummer, but I guess they have to worry about the future of their studio. Definitely make buckets though if they are willing to write off such a large number of potential buyers.

Pretty sure Arkane is doing just fine my friend. Every game they make receives (sometimes overwhelmingly) positive critical reception, and I’ve seen every single game on the first page of Steams “top sellers” list.
I wonder if the pandemics has increased the total number of weebs by any significant margin.
Ethan did they force this article title on you? Blink twice if they forced it on you.
Weird rag on Bluepiont, who in a world of shitty remasters actually produce competent work.
Why focus on them having long-term negative consequences? Even with all of its flaws, Cyberpunk obviously wasn’t just churned out and dumped on consumers without a care. They set expectations too high, then hurt their developers trying to meet impossible goals, and their buyers by still falling short of an acceptable…
The issue is no one knows if or for how long Microsoft will continue to operate in a way the supports the game market while investing in their own profits. Personally I think the reason Microsoft is buying up so many studios/publishers is so they have sufficient market control to force it into a more extractive model.
Yeah but that is now. What about when they have new leadership in six years? Or when shareholders start pushing them to put all their resources in the kind of games with the highest possible returns? Since the US is clearly past the days of breaking up monopolies, this can’t be undone later when Microsoft stops being…
Wow, fuck this guy.
What a fucking shitty thing to do. They are effectively guaranteeing that this concept stagnates.
If we are talking the games I have actually played the most it would definitely be the Halo games. I’ve played through them each (up to Halo 4) dozens of times when I was younger. ODST especially resonated with me, I spent many hours wandering New Mombasa at night. Though they are more of a fond memory for me now,…
The millions of people who like it were just tricked by ad campaigns into thinking they enjoy it? It’s one thing to say something is poorly made or people only like it because they haven’t been exposed to better media, but what even is your argument?
Jesus Christ does he have his hand chopped off and reattached? How to people play these scary games?
So what makes him think they took his, instead of that they made one that, like his, looks like mario?
Always wonder how strategy works in these battles. It just looks completely inscrutable. Does every ship just pick an enemy ship and and shoot it until they or the target dies? Or is there a chain of commands passing down priority targets or orders to use certain weapons?
And you’ll only need to spend an additional $5000 to unlock all the add-ons!
I know this is peak pedantic armchair critic; but judging from this small demo they should have used more organic feeling visual effects for the fire lines, grenade warnings, and vision. It doesn’t feel right for heightened werewolf senses to present like scifi visual overlay.
Yeah I imagine their reasoning is that not everyone has a high end pc or console, and they will eventually make the experience on lower end specs better, so they didn’t want to exclude all those people (and their money). But they still knew the current product was bad and intentionally hid that from people.
I don’t…
Devils advocate. If you shoot an enemy anywhere they are more cybernetic than human, they bleed white stuff called “synthblood”. Stands to reason that the cybernetics are based on human biology so cutting off the synthblood to their brain would knock them out same as a human. Now why they wouldn’t immediately wake up…
Maybe this is blasphemy and I just don’t know it; but my experience was greatly improved by cranking up the FOV a bit. I don’t know if everyone starts at 80 but that’s my default and it felt really claustrophobic until I turned it up a bit.
