I would argue that either visuals or gameplay can for many carry a game on their own. Owlboy looks amazing, and has fantastic music and a charming story. But the gameplay ranges from boring to annoying. Still enjoyed my time with it though because it was relatively short so the gameplay was outweighed by the rest.

For the record I see my character all the time, because I am constantly going into the inventory screen to change stuff (really hope they add mod loadouts in the future) or just to play dress up. I won’t even front, my main drive now is getting cool new clothes. I’m really enjoying the characters and stories, the

At least on the monitors and screens I have had, this a very hot and bad take. The game’s guide is often wrong, and I have to go a little brighter to actually access the full spectrum of shadows, but putting it all the way to the right is honestly a sin and I pity anyone who sees you playing on that setting.

As someone working retail right now...

:(

How does anyone have enough time to play Destiny?

I don’t know what it is like to be from a relatively small nation competing on a national playing-field, but I have been repeatedly disappointed in finding out a Japanese artist, musician, etc who I like has a “Japan first, fuck everyone else” mentality. My first look into the personas of Japanese creators was

I really wish Hello Games would bring on someone (or more likely a team) that has more expertise in movement/combat. The focus of the game has never been in those camps so it is understandable that they are lacking; but it would go from an 6-8 (depending on personal taste) straight up to a 9 if movement and fighting

My old gpu is literally dead. I just want to be able to play games :(

I’m one of those white people who every time something like this happens, immediately questions if it is being blown out of proportion. I don’t want to react that way, but it is always my first thought (yay ingrained white defensiveness). But to the people who are actually claiming that is the case here, there is

I’ve only played ffxiii and xv, and I felt like I understood enough from cultural osmosis to follow along and get a good experience. I could definitely tell when a moment was supposed to be a nostalgia trip or reveal but I couldn’t experience it properly, but those moments are honestly indistinguishable from pretty

Come on, you don’t actually think the two are equivalent, do you? You’ve never encountered a situation where a light source separate from the focus of your attention was distracting? I sincerely hope you are being willfully obtuse.

so now the light shines right at your face? Oh joy.

EA exec: “Other game companies are encroaching on our reputation as the most hated game publishers in history, how do we get more negative press?”

You are a space alien.

Paraphrasing the words of Guy Montgomery on Til Death Do Us Blart; Zack you’re an interesting dude haha

To me Fallen Order had decent-to-great voice acting and decent-to-good character concepts, but had an otherwise totally forgettable narrative. All the story beats were incredibly obvious before they happened, but

Wait they actually just dump you at OG level cap? Without any prompt asking you if you want to start from the beginning or start already caught up? That is just asking to alienate first time players.

Supergiant games is one of the few studios that seems to consciously understand that a game should have a core aesthetic, and every aspect of it should to strive to align with that aesthetic. The visuals, music, plot, etc should all feel like they were made specifically to fit together, and for each you get right the

I think it’s supposed to be a play on straight-jackets. “Harness” represents gravity, but also his insanity. Through the trailer we see him being tormented by the the events of the experiment and his increasing insanity, then at the end he claims both as his own.

Or they just thought it sounded cool.

I’m not expecting it to look just like a cinematic trailer, but I imagine somewhere between Wind Waker and this trailer is attainable.

Yeah and this style seems pretty attainable too. Aside from looking cool it would also do a lot to set the game apart in a good way from Titanfall.
