“It had never been done before” ... doesn’t the DC do this every year on CW?

Not to be all hot takey but- this is fine.
As I said above, this line was in direct response to Shakespeare doing something similar in Macbeth, where Macduff is the “No man of woman born” who can kill Macbeth because he was born via c-section. But Tolkien thought that was dumb and made his “No man” actually be a woman and a hobbit.
Funnily enough, Tolkien wrote this line (or rather, the similar version in the book) because he was annoyed by the loophole Shakespeare gave Macduff in Macbeth (“No man of woman born”), arguing that, uh, a c-section is still being born, William. So he made sure for his story that “No man” meant “No man”.
I thought so, too. They were so happy to “write” for her if, by “write” they mean take the existing line and dumb it down.
It seems a bit disingenuous not to mention that while the line “I am no man” is used in the movie it’s really a variation of Tolkien’s ‘But no living man am I! You look upon a woman...”. No matter how it is stated, it’s a fantastic moment in both the book and in the filmed version.
I have a test for you:
Nah, Dave Filoni is saving him for his own comedy series.
“We’re going to change juuuuust enough to piss people off, but not enough to justify this existing in the first place.”
Solo was better than a totally unnecessary movie has any right to be, but it had some issues. First, Han is the least interesting main character in it. Second, there are some questions that DON’T need to be answered. I don’t mind the guard costume throwback, but I honestly felt the movie would have been better if it…
Here’s my problem with the movie. It’s a two-hour expansion of that single Young Indy scene from The Last Crusade...when it should actually have been a condensed version of the Young Indy TV series. If only the movie forgot about who Han Solo was going to turn into, and focused instead on making the story about a…
The cheesy one-liners are 100% Vader.
It’s the most popular show on television or some shit. Not watching it is not enough for it to leave me alone - since I’m a nerd, that means that every muggle in my orbit feels compelled to constantly bring it up in conversation. I know for a fact that this piece of shit show is shaping how other people view me as a…
I like this explanation
All six Stones were needed to erase half the universe: each played a part in the process, it couldn’t have been done if even one of the Stones was missing. The roles played by the stones:
Never thought about it, but that makes perfect sense based on what we saw of the Power Stone in Guardians of the Galaxy.
But they do have Michelle Pfeiffer
