So are those the only options for dedicated fans who don’t like a woman being cast in this role? They’re either misogynists or have a paucity of imagination?

This is ripe for Moffat’s great vice: metafictional obsession with his protagonists.

Owen and Beru Lars, the Forgotten Man and Woman, team up with Obi Wan Kenobi, one of the liberal urban elite.

This is one of the discrepancies that bothers me most. In the final cut, we had a scene where (for a SECOND TIME in the film) a bridge blows up and Jyn has to grab onto a ledge (with zero threat, because you know she won’t die). But it just blows stuff up, then zooms off. Jyn barely misses a beat, and no suspense is

Two thoughts on NPH:

TBH, I can’t believe Moffat hasn’t written this episode already, since his entire time as showrunner has been one lengthy fanboy meta-commentary on the Doctor himself.

I came here only to see if someone had already posted this. Thank you.

Anyone else see that and at first think it was Stalin?

Rufio?

Isn’t this basically the only way to give Spidey some fresh cinematic life? We’ve already had two origins movies and three other movies where he fights his rogues gallery solo. A team-up or something that ties in significantly with the ongoing MCU story line seems to me like the best option for making this film any

Why was Snoke so forgettable?

On your first point - I felt like the scene where Maz talks to Rey about the Force directly atoned for the scene where Qui-Gon talks to Anakin about the midchlorians. Full of mystery and wonder - like Obi-Wan talking to Luke. Abrams knew what he was doing there - and I am so grateful.

I foresee some Snoke-Ren training sequences in VIII - a dark side parallel to Yoda and Luke in V.

Han Solo: biggest death in cinema history? Can't think of anyone else with the same amount of in-universe and pop culture significance to bite the dust after 40-odd years on screen.

I’ve loved thinking about the differences between Ren and Vader.

Did anyone else start to call that Rey is probably Luke’s daughter because she’s an awesome pilot, rather than from the lightsaber visions and Force sensitivity?

It is impossible for this film to be good.
