For those who go "abuuuuh" at Handbrake, Lifehacker has a great set of presets to get you going:

@VenomIreland: I use these presets that I found on Lifehacker a few weeks ago:

@cormack: They do give out a standard power level. Generally that level is 5v (which is technically too low to charge an iPad at advertised charge time - hence the more powerful wall adapter)

@Gary_7vn: The iPad is fickle in the sense that you can't plug it into just any USB port to charge.

@C-Cookie: Verizon and AT&T work on different radios and bands.

@Tyrunn: Don't forget the flubber.

@aaon: Welcome to eugenics!

Ordered

Welp, no issues here. Guess I'm one of the lucky ones.

@ThaKoolAidKid: Verizon's unlimited is still just 5gb. And while that's still more than AT&T has they're starting to swing towards "extra data" charges.

The real asteroid here is Verizon's alignment with AT&T's data philosophy.

@shockaslim: Or choose to forego one for the other.

@rhorizon: Pffft - maybe 15 minutes to restore.

@rhorizon: The update took 10 minutes, the restore is probably going to take 30-60 minutes.

I did a full backup then started a wipe & restore.

@dfxdeimos: That's what I assumed too. I'd hate to have to be called out of town suddenly and miss the delivery.

So what's stopping someone from going to a fedex holding station and picking it up? You'd think that since you'd been charged they'd have to give it up.

I wonder if Verizon's going to charge you extra per month to use your data plan this way.

Soon enough they'll just be shoving parts into an aluminum can.
