Interesting. So it’s an OK B movie? Cool. I like those.

The film was released last year and it bombed. Even in China. For obvious reasons. First of all, it’s not a Jackie Chan/Arnold Schwarzenegger movie. They are borderline cameos/small support roles. It is a sequel to a Russian movie. There is dubbing that makes it worse to sit through.

Is it any surprise, really? They have long since outlived their place in the modern automobile. I don’t just say that as some youngin’ who doesn’t know how to drive stick - I’ve driven them. I learned on one. I just think they’re horrible - always have because even as a teen in the 1980s I thought of them as obsolete.

“Plenty” of manual Civic, Fit, Golf, Corolla, Accent/Elentra, etc.

I’m not really all that surprised. Manuals are more engaging to drive, but most people probably don’t care about that. An automatic is just easier for most drivers.  Most people just want to point their car in a direction and go, without thinking about it.
