Well, a Twin-Turbo V6 and 20-way power seats front and back, to start with.

Very few people “love” their cars either.
Nope... you said you’re gonna burn your ICE vehicles... now we’re gonna have to hold you to that!!!
COMPARED TO THE 1987 BMW 325is 5sp WITH CLOTH INTERIOR AND NO AIRBAG
Also, handling is not nearly has handicapped as they say.
The relative savings of increased fuel mileage is also waning. Say, 10k miled per year at 30mpg with $2.50/ gas. That’s $833 a year in gas.
Neutral: crossovers - like cars - aren’t all created equal. My Macan is glorious, and Porsche’s sales of the things suggest that plenty of other people feel the same way. That said:
What is about these crossovers with no off-road ability that convinces you to pay a premium just so you can give up handling, fuel economy, and rollover safety?
I love (old) SUVs because I’m an avid off-roader, and because it’s in my blood.
Neutral: I’ve had my heels firmly dug into the anti-crossover camp for years. We bought a minivan 5 years ago, even though for every one van there were about 3 crossovers doing a similar mission — usually with better options, build quality, and handling (nothing touches the van’s interior space, though).
They aren’t - and that’s fine.
Totally agree with all of this. I currently commute in a hatchback but then I see crossovers(especially hybrids) meeting or exceeding my real world average of 33mpg and think: more space wouldnt hurt! Larger may be more comfortable! I only drive on the highway so I don’t really care how well it handles or accelerates
I don’t own a crossover, but it’s ride height, AWD, ease of entry, and cargo space, the same as it always has been.
The new systems literally will NOT recognize components, unless a John Deere Representative comes out and runs their recognition USB key to unlock the tractor.
This would be like if you needed to change the brakes on your car and could only go to the dealership, because the moment you removed the wheel, the engine…
I think the problem isn’t just ‘needing a computer’. If I remember right, it’s like dealer only diagnostic tools with cars. It’s that it has to be a Deere authorized mechanic with a proprietary set of hardware that they won’t sell you, and you can’t just use any old laptop.
Yeah, here’s a quote from one of the earlier…
