"He looks like a cartoon pilot."

She was perfect, accent included. She was like Dustin Hoffman in Hook… a timeless performance betrayed by a sloppy movie.

"My dog Pongo?"

"Best I can do is $2.50."

It was a small subpoena.

I wish they'd have given Abrams the rights to that feel and mood.

And, while I'm not sure there's any objective way to measure this, according to my memory the vitriol between democrats in this campaign is not comparable to that in 2008. This year is WAY worse.

If you think about it, the point where most people agree Dexter turned south is marked by Benz's departure.

That is nice, and it really makes me wish they'd gone with a simple material like this for Supe's costume, instead of that horrible fucking rubber bathmat texture.

That explanation feels fair in the original, because Ernie Hudson plays a believably ordinary human person. Jones literally yells, "AW HELL NAW!"

I find the Brosnan Thomas Crown superior to the original.

Diamonds Are Forever is my favorite, despite being the worst film by a country mile. Adele's really is pretty good, though I don't care for the mixing. And if "themes" includes more than just songs with words, then OHMSS is a stone cold classic.

I also liked the bit with Steve Martin, and all his identically white-haired children.

I love the evolution of wasteland society through the films. In the second, everything from homes to clothes are still simply the repurposed scraps of the old world. In the third, there is new construction, newly (if crudely) made clothes and armor. Fury Road fits between the two aesthetics, though probably closer to

The difference with films like Blade Runner or Shawshank is that they flew under the radar from the get-go. They didn't win many, if any awards, and only later were "discovered" and brought into the light. Hurt Locker won Best Picture, which is some of the best publicity you can get. It's had its chance to be judged.

My god, I never caught that chain of advice-giving before. THANK YOU!

You should rewatch Hot Shots 2 and Addams Family Values. They are easily the best films on this list.
