Yeah, suddenly that whole “mental illness” thing isn’t so silly, is it?

And maybe not the girl that made the false rape claim?

Because a rape accusation is fucking easy, and people with regard only for themselves will take the path of least resistance to get what they want. This is the thing that people don’t understand. Saying that people get falsely accused of rape is not the same as saying that women don’t get raped. You have guys that

how the bigots as you call them are finally listening to potential victims with no questions. that’s the way feminist wanted it for so long

And Jezebel is entirely complicit. One of the only false rape accusations they’ve covered, and they blame it on Islamophobia. Right.

Well this is interesting. One of the few false rape cases that Jezebel has ever reported on, and it’s one that hardly anyone has heard of and has to do with “Islamophobia.” Dat progressive stack, doe.

...You realize that movie wasn’t based on a true story, right?

She understood enough to accuse the brown people.

The kids Jackson molested didn't think it was a joke either.

This is awesome and so true. It’s Jezebel summed up in one gif.

Not a word of what you said do I disagree with. Ultimately though for the purposes of representation we literally are just what people perceive about us. If this was young Jackson of course it would be insane to cast a white man but we’re talking about a man who made a conscious (and very sad) effort to read as white.

Well thank God Lincoln and LBJ were men of colour.

I have heard the same conversation among female coworkers. Big fucking deal.

He had vitiligo. Nobody has that skin tone except an albino or someone else with vitiligo. Where are they going to find an actor with the same rare skin disease? There’s not a good answer to this casting issue, although I agree a black actor in makeup would be preferable to a white guy.

“It’s almost as if his opinions and wishes are totally irrelevant...”

I saw a parade or something that he was in on TV and asked my sister who the white lady at the front was (this was the early 90's so I was elementary school age and hadn’t really heard of MJ or Jackson 5).

Sure. Here I am trying to take off a sweater my mom bought for me:

Why cant they hire black actor and use make up and prosthetic to achieve the look???

When I was a little kid, I had no idea that MJ was black. :/

So white actress, then?
