I think they stopped playing because most of the events for the past 3 years were online and DBFZ netcode is not good. Now that Bandai Namco announced rollback for the game, Go1 and Sonicfox announced they’ll return to the game (or maybe they just want to get Wawa’s head).

I think I know what you mean. The amount of non sensical side story missions got me bored and I put the game down for a few months. The problem for me it’s not there are too many missions... the problem is they all are fetch quests.

I don’t consider it OP, but it was really useful for my build, specially in boss fights because it helps me endure attacks without depleting my stamina (and also... the recoil after some attacks is super useful).
