I know I’m probably in the minority on this, but my feeling is that if knowing the cast list beforehand will ruin the experience of the film, the problem isn’t that the cast list was leaked. The problem is that it’s not a very good or interesting film to begin with.

No kidding. Bullying ruins childhoods, the best that any media could do to someone’s life is waste time.

I think the answer is to just stop treating casting as something that can be “spoiled.”

What a fragile childhood.

I thought he was good in the role.

I see your point but this is the internet journalism so the Tweets are really important.

Yeah, this clown is basically impersonating an actual good commenter. He’s usually just trolling The Root, but I guess someone let him out of his racist cage today.

Maybe we shouldn’t just hand out ostensibly merit-oriented awards to those who were merely ‘decent’ simply because they died?

Why would it have been okay if he hadn’t won, if it’s the best performance he’s ever given? The whole ‘he already won once’ argument shouldn’t apply, this is supposed to be about the specific performance, not the legacy of the performer.

I thought Boseman’s performance was solid. But I think enough people have straight up accepted that these awards can be cumulative, or a make-up Oscar, or a death tribute, as opposed to the single best performance, so the academy voters can start to seem petty when they suddenly, seemingly arbitrarily, decide to do
