[edit]I made a comment about an excellent character who made it into the second half but I nevertheless wish had made it to the end, before I read the ‘second half’ stipulation in the subtitle

“Let’s rank the villain we wish hadn’t made it into the cast of The Suicide Squad

The Plane stars Gerard Butler

Oh god yeah, of course. Sorry, with all the New Yorks and Bermudas and Floridas flying about in this story I missed the point you were making.

Sorry to pile on, but surely if something is ‘due’ East or West, then that means that you don’t have to go North or South at all?

surely you mean

Suit yourself pal. idk anything about the channel but the dude’s analysis(/evisceration) of everything wrong with Chibnall’s contribution to Doctor Who prior to becoming showrunner is spot-on.

Now playing

He’s also just not a good writer for Doctor Who

Windom Earle is kind of amazing and awful at the same time. He’s an interesting character and I think the actor probably did the best he could with some bad scripts, but every time I rewatch Twin Peaks I still can’t believe him encasing Ted Raimi in a papier mache pawn and shooting him with a crossbow.

Opening with a murder and then solving it didn’t work out too badly for Eastenders. I guess the problem for Twin Peaks’ take on the soap opera genre was that none of the other storylines that they introduced – particularly that godawful stretch with James Hurley in another town – were remotely as compelling.

More importantly, who’s playing Merv Pumpkinhead and who’s playing the Corinthian?

How are the Eternals supposed to have ‘guided’ and ‘helped [human] progress’ but also have ‘never interfered’? Surely guidance and help *is* interference, even if it’s more positive than that word usually connotes?

Dude, I fucking *love* the marvel films, I just think that GOTG2 is the worst one after Ultron. Similarly, GOTG2 is particularly annoying for me because of the significant drop in quality from the excellent first film. I don’t *hate* any of these films because that would be a ridiculous overreaction.

I’m going to ignore the lame insult and actually engage critically - did you *really* find all of the character arcs in GOTG2 satisfying? You’re asked to care about Starlord reconnecting with his dad; about Rocket being ostracised from the group for being an asshole; about Gamora and Nebula *also* having absent-father

There’s an opportunity to really explore Drax’s character now that his main purpose in life - to get revenge against Thanos - has been taken away.

Broadly agreed, but even a perfectly good film can be dismissed by someone like that. My cousin refuses to watch Shutter Island because he guessed the twist from the trailer. It’s not Scorcese’s fault that someone isn’t willing to watch a film for its narrative rather than its plot.

True, but it seems odd to insert this into the article. We’ve already got beyond-credible evidence of some absolutely horrendous behaviour from 20 women, why bother trawling his tweets to come up with ‘and look this, crass and broadly objectifying but ultimately pretty harmless in the grand scheme of things tweet!

Beloved actors who unexpectedly died young, made their best-known work in comic book adaptations, and were in the running for a posthumous Oscar? It’s hard not to compare them in this situation, even iftheir performances as Joker and T’Challa and Levee Green are very different (I assume, having not seen Ma Rainey yet).

Fingers crossed!

R.I.P. Good fucking riddance Prince Philip, the Duke Of Edinburgh’
