Yes, for all the times Sony has tried their own version of trying to be Nintendo (Sony Move sports game, All Star Battle Royale, various Kart racers, etc.) this was their most Nintendo game ever, and they ended up doing PlayStation fan service at the level Nintendo can do it with Smash Bros or Mario Kart.
One of the great what-ifs in the industry is the Nintendo Playstation falling apart. Nintendo always has great ideas but either incorporates it in really clunky ways or they half-ass it. Bringing analog sticks and rumble to console controllers was great, but the controller looked like a grappling hook. Motion controls…
I think I’m citing the right source on this, but years ago when Ocarina of Time was re-released on 3DS, I believe the IGN Nintendo podcast referred to the graphical update as making the game look like how you remember it looking, but not how it actually looked. Honestly, if there’s a Zelda 3D All Stars and they don’t…
The Mother games recreated in the Link’s Awakening Switch engine
I think every Zelda fan should at least play through Zelda 2. Use a guide. Use save states and cheat your way through. It’s worth playing through one time to appreciate what they were trying to pull off with the game. It’s better than most people give it credit for.
It’s Homer Simpson getting his legs stuck in a tar pit and deciding his best plan is to pull his legs out with his arms, and then pull his arms out with his face.
It’s not Nintendo so there will be a price drop. Buy it when you feel you’re getting a good return on your investment. There’s also a good chance that this will be free on PS+ within a year
It came out when I was a kid
If the CGI technology was available to Lucas, the original trilogy would have been just as bad.
Backlog is a game in your possession that you intend to start (if you haven’t) or intend to finish (if you’ve started). It doesn’t matter if you ever do. It’s in your backlog as long as you haven’t beaten it or sold it.
Oh, I’m very familiar with it. I do have an Oculus Quest 2. Games like Moss, Tetris, Beat Saber are fine. Games where I can move around in my environment are fine like Vacation Simulator, etc. I’m okay teleporting around in Vader Immortal, but the parts where I’m climbing a ladder are disorienting. Trying something…
If there’s one lesson to be learned from Labo VR, it’s don’t make VR out of cardboard and a 720p screen.
I think about some of the fights in this game, some of the parts where I run away to make room for myself, and then turn around to shoot. Then I run away again, turn around and shoot more. Then I think about my VR motion sickness, and I’m convinced this game will destroy me. Teleporting might be too disorienting to…
Shit, man. I’m sorry. I thought it was a comments section where I could offer my opinion on video game news. I was unaware it was an “only leave insight if you have connections in the industry” section. Going forward, I’ll only weigh in after speaking with my uncle who works at Nintendo.
Fair, but two counterpoints. If you have an unreleased Vita game, that’s a poor business plan overall.
I’d bet it’s statistically insignificant. The number of people who claimed to be upset by this was a fraction of a percentage point of total gamers. The number of those people who did anything about would be a fraction of that fraction. The number of people who still have a PS3 hooked up and are still actively looking…
I love ads for Arcade 1up because it’s usually middle-aged dudes because that’s the exact audience. My kids would look at the Star Wars game and think, correctly, that it looks like trash. For me, it’ll take me back to being 7 years old arguing with my family that I don’t want to see the movie we paid for, I want to…
I’ll have even less incentive if we do move to subscription services. I have a number of games that received rave reviews that I got for $15 that I don’t feel the urge to play. I tell myself I’m going to, but then Nintendo will resell me a game I played 7 years ago for full price and I’ll play that instead. I’m not…
Why let you have the game you bought two generations ago when you can pay $400 for a replica arcade machine from Arcade 1up with both games?
