Literally by the book, even! Gerblins was adapted from the Lost Mines of Phandelver adventure, and I hope that in the TTAZZ after the campaign ends, Griffin can spill the beans on when he started forming the deep backstory.

One thing about it is that, for (mostly) better or worse, it's really a narrative show that uses D&D as its medium. Corners get cut at points, so it can be a bit frustrating at a few points if you want an in-depth RPG experience.
