It isn’t about insurance. When people get in accidents now, they go after what they can get. The big fish now that they can get is insurance. The insurers are co-equals. They don’t want to kill other. It’s mutually assured destruction. When there is a bigger fish, a large corporation to attack, the layers will do

Yes they do happen now. Most of the time both parties are notmal people with small bank accounts. No reason to make a big stick and sue everyone. Make one or both of them huge, rich technology companies and all of a sudden it’s game on.

Until deaths or severe medical damages. Then it gets ugly. I might be wrong. I guess we’ll see. Besides, two autonomous cars run into each other. Injuries or death occure. Does the court really just say, “yup, they acted like they were supposed to. Too bad.”?

Or the best thing in at least the last seven days.

I disagree. Precedent cannot help determine whether an individual car had a malfunctioning system. It’s like saying a car ran a stop sign one time and was found guilty of failure to yield killing someone so no other cars could have a brake failure.

You’re probably right. People who are very impatient think only about themselves and getting somewhere. If someone impedes them, that person is a “bad driver” when the careless, hurrier is probably the problem.

I don’t know. Each case is individual. You would have to establish if the systems functioned properly. Establish whether the people involved intervened in anyway or hadn’t maintained the system properly. I don’t think precedent helps much here.

That’s a very large target they have set. I wish them luck. A lot of lawyers are going to get very rich off of this.

Absolutely. I’m not talking about these smart assist systems and I should have made that more clear. I am talking about the supposed fully autonomous future and why it may be the new “flying car” that never happens.

A human driver, no matter how good or bad, is liable for the damages they cause and that’s all anyone can try to get if something bad happens. If multi-billion dollar corporations start making cars they claim are autonomous then they become liable and a target for litigation. If they never lost a case, they would go

I agree that 30% of drivers probably have no business driving. However, they are liable for the damages they cause and that’s all anyone can try to get if something bad happens. If multi-billion dollar corporations start making cars they claim are autonomous then they become liable and a target for litigation. If they

Sum-bitch. I mean scumbumb.

Always check your tire pressure.

Tire pressure off, duh.

It looks like a 2-seater instead of 4?

She’ll never get whiplash. it’s a safety thing for her.

For sure. I’ve been guilty of posting a quip not G rated.

It’s not about huge cows. The frame of the cow is genetic to the breed. Feeding corn increases fat content, marbling on the meat. It just makes it taste better. Also about putting weight on faster to get to market quicker.

I find it amusing how we laugh at our past visions of the future, but believe so completely in our current visions of the future.

Look, I don’t expect it to. I just said I thought this was a little gratuitous. I didn’t ask for a boycott or anything like that.
