I just want AWD and a Turbo 5 in my VW CC.

That might be because Politifact can’t get in their own contest.

Thankfully they have the only and worst non-biased reporters...

Way to go Doug, you greedy bastard.

I’m sure it would make it a rocket, but it would upset the balance too. It’s nice to retain the original character of a car sometimes. There’s nothing wrong with a V8 swap (or any other engine) but it does completely change a car into something different. Better and worse, but definitely different.

I had a 1991 Nissan 240SX way back when. It was a really good car. Well balanced and great handling. It is the perfect car to train someone to handle a more powerful rear drive car. It teaches you to carry momentum and hit apexes and brake points. A lot of fun. It was 100hp shy of being a great car.

The picture in your previous post with the color chart looks different from the profile overlap you show here? The headlights are different and the green house looks different. Just an observation.

Not sure on the timing, but you’re right on the stock examples part. That’s always the case, though.

That’s a fair point. It’s only downfall (IMHO) was derivative styling. Great car.

Senario number four: Your brother from is flying into town in the middle of the night. He is going to borrow one of your cars. You can have your “wife” drive in another car to the airport at a normal time of day to pick you up and you can lock the keys to your car he will use in it after parking it in the airport lot.

Aftermarket tuners remap engines. It can be done easier than most of the problems it would cause. And what they are doing in most cases is reducing power in lower gears and at lower speeds. The bottom line is that if there were buyers for the car with a manual they would build it. Since there is no quantity of scale

Of course it’s possible. Even if the transmission had to be created from scratch it wouldn’t be impossible. That is why I said $tupid rich. And F1 cars had manuals in the not too distant past that climbed the tach faster not to metion some production cars like the Porsche Carrera. With the ultra light clutch it spun

If I was $tupid rich, I’d get one of each...both custom made with a gated shifter. I wonder how much that would cost?

The guy I work for has some storage garages he rents out. When one is abandoned (ie: someone doesn’t pay for long enough) it’s great fun to go through the junk that someone was storing. One of the semi valuable things we find are CDs...depending on their (and your) taste. It’s where I got my In Utero CD.

What constitutes beauty in anything is obviously subjective. I think this car has aged as well as any car could hope to. It helps that it wasn’t made in very large numbers so the shape doesn’t become boring. To me, it is one of the most beautiful “mass” produced cars ever.

I’ve spent a lot of time in Dubuque.

I’ll accept your first ”major drawback”, but not your second. Nothing looks more dated than a Porsche 911. Nothing.

D.C. probably thought Aston Martin was a guy and he would get to use his stick.

Years ago I broke my right leg pretty badly and had a cast from tow to hip for 2-1/2 months. I had a 1976 Nova Concourse with an auto shifter on the center console. I would climb in with my leg over the center console and left foot the gas and brake. It was inconvenient, but it isn’t like I could walk...
