I drove the Lane Museum’s Tatra a few years ago during one of their Rally for the Lane events.

The Lane Motor Museum in Nashville has several Tatras. These are definitely not like the cars we grew used to in this country and are very interesting. This one had me at air-cooled, rear-engined V8.

This thing belongs in the Lane Motor Museum with other glorious Tatras!

but I guess Clarkson/Wilman didn’t see the value in doing something with Lane Motor Museum. Eh.

1950-something 2CV. I was at the Lane Museum to film the first season of Jason Drives when a storm began to roll in while we were on set. I drove this 9hp version, with manual windshield wipers through a thunderstorm in Nashville traffic and it was one of the greatest driving experiences of my life. The guys at the

1935 Auburn 851 Phaeton with the supercharged straight 8. Besides the manual choke, it was as easy to drive any 1960's 3 speed American car. Unbelievably smooth and quiet. The next oldest one was this 1941 Cadillac drop-top in the back.
