This is vicious rumor, but I think the track is in western Australia (years ago I saw this, correct me if I'm wrong) which the track esses up the high side from the spectator area, then comes back down. The pits and the stands are at the lowest point. So the cars are never really out of site. Kind of a neat set up.

The Chevy Venture did so poorly in the newer generation crash, GM accelerated removing it from the market.

When your kids are at the “bucket myself” age, you cannot beat a minivan with power doors. I think I saved a year of my life not getting out and opening and closing doors. Plus everyone in the back can exit on the sidewalk side and you don’t have a driver’s side door opening into traffic.
