Im not defending their business or marketing plans. But I’m passing along what I read.
My understanding from other sites is they are using a heavy-wall stainless skin that is essentially brake-formed instead of stamped in a die. So the triangulation would be super important. You’d have an “L” instead of a triangle and clearly you’re losing a lot of strength.
My opinions are coming in dribs and drabs. I’m not going to say the design is “pleasing” but neither is the McLaren. Purposeful. You see exactly why they do what they do, but it ain’t pretty.
I was about to mock the complete lack of side access to the bed, but then I remembered the side rails of a modern Chevy or Ford 4x4 is over 5.5 feet so I guess by that metric, it’s exactly par.
