As a longtime NYCC’er, I learned a valuable lesson years ago... The panel’s over when the Q&A portion starts. Leaving at that point puts me ahead of the game for the next long line I want to stand in.

Gwyneth Paltrow is a bad person, with bad advice...and a bad memory as well, it seems.

100% here for Boston Sports Fan on Boston Sports Fan violence.

Drink your beer and live your own life, dude.

Yup. As I said in an earlier response, my comment re: HOAs and insurance was limited by my own personal awareness of urban scenarios, and I wasn’t considering the larger communal picture in other areas outside of that.

That’s not a dagger. It’s just a inapt comparison.

I don’t disagree the overall intent was to give potential homeowners more financial angles to consider, but I’d argue any article providing potential pros and cons on the subject is inherently feeding into the “buy vs. rent” conversation.

Owning OR renting outside urban areas requires the purchase of a vehicle (generally), so it shouldn’t be considered a cost specific to one or the other. But your point is well made about insurance and HOA fees. I had tunnel vision on that due to my personal condo ownership where the combination of the two is quite

You’re absolutely right, of course, although the same could be said for folks who decide to rent outside an urban center due to budgetary or other concerns. I should’ve been clearer in my statement, and said owning a car has zero business being factored in as a hidden cost of homeownership specifically.

Boston owner here as well. That exemption is a godsend.

What a load of nonsense.

You should look up the word ignorant.

It’s not. Problem solved.

“Blow” is slang for cocaine, hence blowfish” = coke dealer.

I agree with you overall re:flashlight apps, but there are wonderful exceptions...

There is literally NOTHING inherently wrong with living with other members of your family, and shame on you for perpetuating that nonsense.

Did I miss the part where you considered messenger bags? ...because duh.

I think it’s meant in the spirit of a “dare” but I agree “challenge” seems a bit of a misnomer.

Do the candy shells of M&Ms qualify? Because I’ve been taking that challenge daily for years.

That’s also been my assumption from early on.
