For handling you want your tires far with narrow sidewalls, which is the exact opposite of how pre WWII tires were made.  That’s why all these modern remakes inspire this subtle but pervasive cognitive dissonance, IMO.

Real shotgun buffs get ones that are custom made to fit them, like suits, because you don’t aim them, you point them like they’re an extension of your body.  And since you’re already spending a ton of money, they’ll usually have fancy wood, engraving, etc.
