I am one of very few people who is not overly alarmed by the fires. First, there has never been one to ignite while driving - safe(ish) for occupants, second, the overall failure rate is extremely low(0.016%), 3rd, all batteries are being replaced.

Just selling a car for a high price does not make it a “luxury” car.
They exist. A former boss of mine sold an absolutely MINT one for $6k last year. It had been owned by his aunt who bought it as a retirement gift for herself then never drove it (around 10k on the odometer).
Phony Stark…
The fact that it exists…
There was a VW GTI MK8 forum long before it came out.
Damn, I was hoping that was going to be clearance.
Eh... sure. In the current market, this is a nice price, but christ I kind of hate that. This feels like it should be around $3k cheaper.
Let’s be real, he’s a hyper miler, he didn’t “nail the brakes,” as the brakes just turn useful kinetic energy into heat, which is waste. He coasted down to some speed in advance of the traffic, then held that speed, likely refusing to go faster than it even if a pulse in the traffic would provide enough gap to do so.
I see how solar might be more expensive, but I fail to see how this is a net zero operation. How does the oil get to the charge point for one.
I wouldn’t put it past Tesla to be crypto mining on their customer’s vehicles.
“And no most folks aren’t rich kids learning to fly as hobby theres a lot of young folks looking to make careers and older folks switching careers.”
I mean it’s an improvement but it isn’t a particularly high bar to clear.
I love the 7.3 (and 5.9 Cummins, and the original Duramax) but cheese and rice do I hate having to drive behind one of the pre-emissions engines.
It was relatively cheap, it looked “fun”, and it wears a Toyota badge. That’s enough to convince an awful lot of people to hand over their money.
Hey there, Theseus!
Luxury car pricing does not a luxury car make.
First: Tesla is not a luxury brand. Convince me I’m wrong. The model S can pass for luxury, but not the 3/Y where the bulk of sales sit. Sure they offer huge amounts of technology, but that’s not “luxury”, unless we’re collectively agree to redefine luxury as high tech
Step 1: Talk him down a few hundred bucks
