Does this whole market average trade-in value normalize for WHAT vehicles are being turned in? If last month was high on people trading in their Corollas, Versas and Cruzes and this month is full of upper-income earners that are comfortable enough to turn in their old Lexus or Mercedes on a new one.  I’d imagine that

If you go by the famously underrated efficiency listed by the EPA, yes. Real world numbers show the Taycan (especially when fitted with 19" wheels) to be a close rival to the Model S Raven.

And you do know no amount of design excellence determines ability to execute commercially, right? Also, did this guy do the overall system design or just the aesthetic design of the exterior/interior?

This coming from the guy who was horrified when I told him I coldset a 1991 Schwinn aluminum roadbike to accept a wider rear hub width.  My “fix” has lasted a few thousand times longer (in miles) than this frame.

Yes, asthetically, the 5th and 6th gen look much better. Agreed that the FWD on most models is not ideal, but they have much more power. I don’t hear people complain about Integras or Civic SI/Type R being FWD, most agree they are legends.

Vaporware. Prove me wrong. Meanwhile, the Taycan has been shipping for an entire model year and is capable of 270kW charging peak, with sustained 200+kW charging all the way to nearly 60%. I find it interesting that Porsche announced several updates this morning for the MY21 Taycan including 22kW AC charging.  Tesla

The over/uinder for the 0-60 time is about 14 seconds.  I’ll take over, since there’s about 900 lbs of “accessories” on this heap.

I understand it for enthusiast cars, but it’s idiotic in my opinion to rail against auto on/off systems for daily driven commuter cars (Camrys, CRVs, etc) with no more performance in its design than a white Maytag Dishwasher. In that sense, it is just wasteful.

Also, what were the battery percentages for each vehicle at the end of the test? The test methodology is not very clean about the end (other than dropping below 69 mph - is that at 100% throttle position when the battery is nearly in shutdown state?).

The same team determined the HD3500 is more “efficient” than the Prius since it has a 40 gallon tank.

I do not understand the hatred of auto start/stop.  Why do people insist that their vehicle idles while not in motion?  Some systems are smoother than others and some could be improved, but I find it quite peaceful to sit in traffic or at stoplights without the needless NVH.

Can someone please elaborate on their “race-proven” battery tech? Are they in Formula E or something? Sounds like a ton of bluster for a vaporware distributor.

I can understand that. But this is listed in Sacramento, CA where it barely hits freezing temperatures in a year (not SW Ohio with snow and salt like mine has experienced).

Pads and rotors on a PHEV with 65k and 4 years? Someone either got taken at the mechanics, or it’s been driven in a manner that would not be desirable. Pads and rotors on hybrids typically last WELL over 100k miles (Source: my 2013 Prius with 142k on the original pads and rotors with >60% pad life left).  CP

You aren’t the only one around here well versed in the PHEV market, although I’d assume we are the minority.  The Prius Prime and Hyundai Ioniq PHEV are among the best for all around use, although the Niro PHEV is pretty interesting too for its utility and efficiency.

I saw an immaculate Scout like that on the road a couple weeks ago. A distinctively cool looking 4x4, and I’m not a lover of off-road things in general.
