Toyota also sells more cars than Porsche, but can’t beat it at Le Mans.  Sales volume does not a Goliath make, in this case.  When it comes to performance not a single manufacturer has any argument that it’s pedigree is better than Porsche’s.

To put it into perspective, this is like a 17 year old today going to auction and buying a 1997 Toyota Camry or Honda Accord (the Model T of the era) for $512 ($47.50 in 2019 USD, I’m not going to bother to figure out Canadian dollars) and continuing to drive it through 2089. That just blows my mind.

I would not think so, Porsche, while it has a very loyal following, does not have the blind-faith loyalist that Tesla has. If Porsche says it’s cars can do “X” (say, 300+ miles of range) than you better believe they have engineered it to perform under 99% of circumstances. Think about how Porsche rates their 0-60 mph…

Why does everyone always bring up six cylinders on this car as a point of disqualification for its supercar status?
