You’re right - even if the R-Designs have some of the engine specs of a Polestar-optimized vehicle, (and damn close 0-60 times) and some subtle suspension tweaks, they fall far short of the chassis/suspension and brake mods of the true Polestars.

During my college days of the late 70’s/early 80’s, I drove dealer swaps for a Toyota dealer. As an owner of an MGBGT at the time, these 1st and 2nd gen Corolla Liftbacks and Hatchbacks were possibly my favorite cars, because they were very similar in character to my rusting British…
