My first thought was TV Tommy Ivo's 4-engined 4WD dragster from the 60's. But I found a Youtube video where he explained how it worked - 2 of the paired front to back engines drive the rear wheels, the other two, mounted backwards, drive the front wheels. Actually fairly simple. I then thought of the these tractors,
