A car colliding with anything immediately adjacent to a roadway is an accident but not a “freak” accident on its own. It’s a pretty regular and foreseeable event and we literally build things like guard rails and have raised curbs specifically because cars losing control is a known hazard.

A skiier colliding with a piece of equipment directly adjacent to a trail is not a “freak accident.”

Eh. It’s pretty easy to fall from a height and not land on your head or back as long as you don’t do anything stupid to induce rotation before letting go.   It’s still a risk but the best way to do it would probably be to slide off and grab on with your hand so you’re dangling feet first and then let go that way.

It’s a not a good plan, but I think you grossly underestimate the pressure it takes for a water jet to seriously cut or abrade skin. Hydrants and water mains try to maintain a PSI in the 50-100 range (in home water pressure is supposed to top out at around 80 in most building codes). A waterpik that people use for

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say no they aren’t because somewhere there’s fine print that said if you go on our slopes whatever happens is on you.

Honestly? Nah. They’re selfish cunts who are trying to foist their pain onto someone else. I have zero tolerance for people whose first reaction to their own personal grief is to go looking for other people to blame when it’s incredibly obvious where the source of the problem is.

This is true, but also just another reason not to do it.

I’m usually the first person to jump on cops here but I don’t see any reason to blame them at all. It’s a weather disaster in an area that doesn’t usually get a ton of snowfall. Roads are fucked up, and other emergencies don’t just stop happening. They have to prioritize their responses. They can’t just drop a dozen

This is tragic and I’m not going to blame the guy because not everyone is trained for making survival decisions, but the family needs to fuck off with this “they let him die” nonsense.

You’re a complete idiot if you think all of that is structurally sound enough to walk across much less snowmobile across.

What I HONESTLY know is that this story is 2 fucking years old. You’re a little late to the party pal.

If people are too busy arguing between a tiny shack on the Rio Grande and a Mansion in Austin they’ll be too distracted to notice the volcano lair he really lives in.

How that hasn’t been solved yet is honestly inexcusable

“The evidence is stacked against the owner, but he claims he’s innocent.”

It must be nice to live in such a fantasy.

I promise you if someone wrote a bill that explicitly rewarded people for shopping non-union in its text, it would lead to vilification.

I support unions. I support their existence. I support their right to collectively bargain.

Knowing Youtube it’ll be flagged as Youtube Kids instead of getting taken down.

needlessly put innocent people at risk

Yep. This is the real takeaway here.
