The thing about the slippery slope argument is that it is a fallacy, not an argument. Getting rid of all ICE vs. reaching a threshold of ICE on the road where they can say “job done” are different things.

Counter point:
As much as I enjoy the UK motoring and baking shows, everything I’ve ever seen and heard about the UK (England in particular), makes me think that it’s just a miserable place to live.
Except it’s not really Toyota dragging it out. Hardly any of the Supra articles are related to official teasers or press releases from the company, it’s every auto news site posting a new article any time a rumor surfaces on the internet (often seemingly regardless of the sources validity), spy shots are taken, or…
Not surprised.
I always find it a bit ironic that people want a manual in _____ because, you know, “sports/race car”. And then Toyota, BMW, et al. can always fall back on “well, our auto is faster and more track-focused than manuals, therefore...no manuals”.
In all of 2017, Kia sold just 455 of these in the US.
Can’t have any used models if no one gets the new ones
Those three pedals are a cruel tease if they don’t materialise in the production car
The people using this post to make smug proclamations (about a Tesla cutting someone and imprisoning their glovebox contents after a 60mph crash) strike me as the same people in the Louis CK bit about wifi in airplanes. It’s akin to complaining about the lack of AC in your model T. Give it a minute! They’ve pulled off…
My problem with the engine in the Toyobaru twins is that it’s not really a sporty feeling engine. It already feels like a turbo engine in that it doesn’t want to rev and sounds coarse through the midrange. So in lieu of something that is responsive and engaging (like the K20 from a 2006 Civic Si), more power would be…
Yes but it’s a Ford! It won’t last as nearly as long as a Prius without putting tons of money into it! Performance or longevity I chose longevity! I personally love the way my 2017 Prius drives! I was an avid VW girl got 11 years which no Ford is a match for. I wouldn’t buy or drive a Ford (Found On the Road Dead)! I…
I don’t understand this opinion. Until recently I drove either my 2004 Civic or my wife’s 2011 Prius. There was basically no perceptible difference between how interesting they are to drive. Even compared to a new Civic Si, it’s still just boring.
This is pretty much the consensus I get from any of Hyundai/Kia’s performance models. They tend to be very close matches as far as numbers go, but they seem to fall pretty short in terms of ride/handling and transmission performance, etc.
Because ride and handling won’t matter? Because people don’t consider those traits benchmarks of performance?
It looks like it took every design trend of the last 5 years and synthesized them into a new sedan.
This car could easily be badged as an Infiniti or an Acura, and nobody would be any the wiser. Hyundai/Kia are getting very good at interior quality also.
in 50 years or so, someone will come across a barn. in it there will be 2017 supra with automatic and 1998 honda accord with stick.
This just seems like you want some clicks. Yea that mule has an auto, but theres also a Z4 mule with a manual. The transmission is already in there.
He said goddamnit. Still waiting for the part where he cusses out the entire world.
