I agree on several points but a Pink Floyd soundtrack would have aged fine. Floyd is timeless man.  It would age a lot better then a Toto soundtrack!  Even though I kinda love the Lynch Dune Soundtrack

Thing is, Villeneuve’s Dune also somewhat resembles Frank Herbert’s Dune. And Jodorowsky’s project (as cool and stimulating as it could have been) really didn’t. To the point where I wondered what was the point of basing it on Dune. Read more

Good. I’m glad someone finally said how corrupted our culture is due to this show. Now if only someone could point to the rise in gun violence and equate it to the popularity of violent video games, I think we’d be set.

“Ratched” is a dumb, pointless idea that shows a total lack of comprehension of the original character. I hope it sucks so bad people will just ignore it. (She’s not a good person, but she doesn’t realize it because she has unchecked authority over other people’s lives, and she gets off on it. This happens to actual Read more

19 years, actually. The prequels really screwed that timeline up. Like maybe I could believe if they were saying “all the Jedi have been gone a bit” in the OT, but Han et al make it sound like some bogus nonsense that was a passing fad for your grandparents, like putting peas in gelatin moulds. Not that they would necessarily shy away from bringing characters back from the dead, but since Herzog’s character was killed last season, it’s not really that surprising.

One thing that puzzles me about the Star Wars universe is how the Jedi went from a major galactic institution to a forgotten legend in the span of ~50 years. I’m content to chalk it up to bad/inconsistent writing unless someone knows an in-game reason for it.

Hannibal Rising was probably the worst I came across. In Silence, Lecter points out that he just is the way he is, nothing happened to make him that way. It’s far scarier that a monster can come from anywhere. Then we get the backstory that he’s a Lithuanian war refugee who murdered and ate the soldiers who killed and Read more

Do people really see Nurse Ratched as evil?  I mean, yes, she’s the antagonist to our “hero” McMurphy, and she is cold and unlikable, but is she really “evil”?

I’m surprised there is no mention of Paul Lynde, one of the most obvious inspirations for Roger.

Lots of people on Reddit and elsewhere cite that one as the worst episode, I don't get it. I really liked how Devito played himself as a teenager by putting on a bad Beatles wig. And how that poor black club owner kept getting the shaft for no reason. And how at the end they're fighting over an elderly woman who wants Read more

I agree with you there, with this series, any time one storyline had some sort of a conclusion, 2 or 3 more storylines would be opened up at the same time. I don’t think they ever had a plan for an end game for the series, and that would be just fine if it could just go on and on, but as soon as the plug were to be Read more

I used to love this show, but the lengthy breaks made it much harder to stay invested in the show. I don’t know that 7 seasons in 16 years was the best formula.
