I can’t listen to the audio right now, but I think it is really intresting to have the perspective of someone who have actually worked at Bioware under EA. God knows we have enough Youtube knows-it-all, that have never been part of game dev in their life, that says EA are literally the devil and invented sin itself.

There may be one of many reasons why publishers don’t release demos any more, but the point still stands; if they would profit from it they would continue with the practice, which they do not.

I am actually pretty sure that Demos drives down the sales. I remember early during the 360 era where basically every game had a demo, but then one and one they stopped doing it, probably because they felt it wasn’t financially sound.
