Right, it’s like...ok, so a franchise whose “phase 1" is headed by Robert Downey Jr, whose other franchise unapologetically made another Johnny Depp movie, hired Gunn to direct these movies knowing exactly who he was, and counting on the fact that he’s a different person now who wouldn’t cause them further…

Gunn addressed the jokes a while ago though, apologized, deleted the jokes, and didn’t make more.

I won’t lose any sleep over James Gunn either, but there’s no way Disney didn’t know about those tweets prior to right-wing Pizzagate trolls resurfacing them and it pisses me off that Cernovich and his team were successful.

Right, this doesn’t sit well with me, because Mike “I make rape jokes like I breathe” Cernovich is behind it. And now they’re all saying he, Patton Oswalt, and Michael Ian Black are part of some Hollywood pedo ring. Like, Disney, context MATTERS.

I don’t blame the cast for defending their friend, as a person. The tweets are bad and indefensible, though. There is no way Disney was unaware of them before they hired Gunn in the first place, so placating Cernovich (of all fucking people) on this is complete bullshit. I will lose zero sleep over Gunn losing his…
